To Neutralize or Not...

Most of us go through phases in our lives where we go from one part of the spectrum to the other. Color choices are no exception ....The clue is to find what one feels comfortable with. I think that I am coming full circle.... I LOVED the jewel tones ... Emeralds, Aubergine, Harvest, Royal Blue....The BOLDER the better.

Then...suddenly...out came the paint brushes....faux finishes,  SOFTER, COOLER, colors. Anything that created a SOOTHING sense of CALMNESS and RENEWAL... It seemed as if everyone incorporated the BEACH into their home design....

We now have a market that takes great pain to produce the colors of NOSTALGIA. The painted, aged, and distressed finishes are, in my opinion, here to stay. I have embraced them as well, but ...in moderation.

All of this to say....NOTHING is more pleasing to me than the colors of nature.....as if I could reach out  and bring the colors of the Earth into my living areas....The NEUTRALS ....allow me to tone down my color accents as well as change the vignette more often. Now what I love and want to surround myself in my home can be placed in ANY area of my home....After all DESIGN IS IN THE DETAILS!

The Neutral Fabric Draws attention to the beauty of these Exquisitely carved Chairs.

Texture adds even more dimension and interest....Notice the subtle harlequin design on the chair.

Now...the pieces are in place and there is more than enough texture, color and finishes... NEUTRAL IS ALWAYS CLASSIC.
